Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna Apr. 26 1852, to Hermann Landau in Weimar, 1852 Apr. 26.

Saying that this time the Viennese critics behaved towards him with unexpected kindness, that day after day the Chronik of the Wiener-Zeitung reports favorably on Napoleon, expressing regret that Fr. Beck did not sing his song, saying that he and his friend Liszt were sorry to hear Landau's report of an empty house at [Berlioz's] [Benvenuto] Cellini, adding that in place of the cantata La cloche someone plans to compose a "Jubel-Ouverture" on the Russian national hymn, mentioning Graf von M[ontecuccol]i [the missing letters have been added in another hand], Sachse, Cranz, Raff, Genast, Rötsch[er?], von Mangold[t?], Fehleisen, Hemleb, Winterberger (senior and junior), Milde, Mayerhofer, a portrait of Liszt, etc.
